After the scandalous divorce, the ex-wife of Yevhen Chervonenko, the Chairman of the National Agency for the Issues of Euro-2012, decided to help women who are in divorce or on their way to it. She has registered a civic organization ‘I’m strong enough!’, which promises to provide psychological, legal, and, in prospect, also material aid to ex-wives and children who have suffered during dissolution of a marriage.

“My ex is trying to deprive me even of his surname.”

BITTER EXPERIENCE. It washer own experience that prompted Margarita to begin such activities. As Segodnia earlier reported, during 18 years Margarita and Yevhen jointly earned USD 21.2 billion, according to rough estimates. In any case, this was the amount voiced by the wife’s lawyer. The couple had its family business, an apartment in Lviv and real estate property in the most prestigious village neighbouring Kyiv, Kozyn, on a land plot of around 3,000 square meters (worth no less than USD 600,000), and a cottage – USD 2-3 million more.

Margarita continues claiming half of these assets, but, according to her lawyer, so far, even an expert evaluation of the entire property has not been carried out in order to exactly establish the half the ex-wife is pretending to.

“I have been deprived of the family business I used to run for many years,” Margarita states on her organization’s website. “The most terrifying thing in my divorce was its unexpectedness. In a blink, I lost everything. But I did not give up. I found strength in myself thanks to the help of my friends and my daughter who is a psychologist. Unfortunately, my material issues have not been resolved so far. I have neither met nor talked with my husband for a year now,” Margarita said.

Yevhen Chervonenko, currently a single politician, refused to comment on the undertaking of his ex-wife, and still earlier was denying accusations against him.

MARGO ONLINE.

“I see this idea enjoys wide support among women, and not only divorced ones. They need legal aid. Our amended Family Code is one of the best in Europe. And if it were observed, even I would not have any problems now,” Margarita Chervonenko defined the direction of her organization’s activities. The www.iamstrong.org.uawebsite will contain Margarita’s personal blog, with the help of which internet users will be able to communicate with her. So far it is not working.
